Perth Laverton Classic: Event Partner Announcement

Veris Racing are pleased to announce a new event partnership with Cashmanagement for the Perth-Laverton Cycling Classic.

This iconic event raises funds and awareness for the Laverton Cycling Project that supports, mentors and provides access to cycling resources for health, fitness, well-being and sport. This program forms part of Veris Australia’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) as many of the participants are indigenous to the area, whilst also involving the collaboration of various socially conscious corporations and organisations.

David Cashman, Director of Cashmanagement, offered his own personal insight to this cause:

“The Perth to Laverton Classic is an annual ride I feel very privileged to be a part of. Fundamentally, I see it as a very hands on and practical delivery of a community cycling development program to the kids at Laverton.

Along the route to Laverton, cyclists camp in places of great historical and cultural significance, we are blessed with being welcomed by and taught by local Indigenous elders from these communities we pass through.

Working with the kids at Laverton to help teach them bicycle maintenance and riding skills is very rewarding, and for many youths the bike being their only means of transportation.

Having grown up in Kalgoorlie and ridden across this magnificent country by bicycle, I can see that helping the community develop a sustainable cycling program will open many doors of opportunity for the kids and community stakeholders alike.

Cashmanagement and myself are very proud to be a partner in this exciting initiative, and of course, any excuse to ride 1,000km through this wonderful country is a good one!

The Chair of the Cycling Development Foundation, which owns and manages Veris Racing, Mary Tennant reiterated much of David’s insight:
