The Cycling Development Foundation would like to welcome Tracie Dawson to the board of the Foundation
Tracie brings a wealth of experience in both business and cycling at a personal and corporate level.
After joining AAP Reuters in a training/marketing role, Tracie has gone on to work with national corporations, federal government agencies, and WA’s largest NFP health fund in business development, corporate wellness and general management roles.
“My purpose as a Cycling Development Foundation (CDF) Board Member would be to use my knowledge and experience to assist the board and team to enhance the cycling opportunities for women in Western Australia,” Tracie said.
Tracie is relatively new to cycling but is a member of South Perth Rouleurs, has represented Australia in Italy at UCI amateur level, and led the first women’s only team to ride from Esperance to Perth (1,000 km in 6 days) to raise funds for Teen Challenge. She has also competed in numerous BWA Sportif’s, the iconic 3 Dams Challenge, ATTA events, won the C grade open women’s event in Pemberton, and competed in the Tour of Margaret River for Hall Cycling in 2014.
“I have been on a cycling journey of discovery since relocating to Perth with my family in 2009. I understand the factors that attract and retain women in cycling from early childhood through to mature aged cyclists.”
Tracie has experience as a beginner, a participant, a competitor, and a supporter/promoter of cycling pathways at an individual and corporate level.
“Successful cycling at all levels depends on respectful partnerships: cyclists cycle and have fun; friends, families and community members support cyclists, coaches coach, and volunteers officiate and administer clubs.”
“Cycling has allowed me to be active, challenge myself and connect with a range of people across WA and internationally.”
