Graveleur and Cycling Development Foundation partner to support the Laverton Cycling Project in 2026.
The Cycling Development Foundation (CDF) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Australian gravel and adventure cycling events company Graveleur, with funds raised across Graveleur’s 2026 event series supporting the Laverton Cycling Project in Western Australia.
Graveleur delivers thoughtfully curated gravel and adventure cycling events that celebrate exploration, connection, and community. Through events such as Thunderbolts Adventure, Clarke’s Gambit, and Mary’s Mayhem, Graveleur brings riders together to experience diverse landscapes while fostering a strong sense of inclusivity and shared purpose.
The partnership reflects a shared belief between Graveleur and CDF that cycling can be a powerful tool for positive community impact, particularly when access to sport, equipment, and infrastructure is limited.
The Cycling Development Foundation works with communities in regional Western Australia to deliver sustainable, locally led cycling initiatives that improve participation, health, and wellbeing outcomes. One of these initiatives is the Laverton Cycling Project, a community-driven program based in Laverton, a remote town in the Goldfields region of Western Australia.
The Laverton Cycling Project provides young people with access to bicycles, helmets, mechanical support, and regular riding opportunities. Beyond equipment, the project supports skill development, confidence, physical activity, and community connection, and is delivered in close collaboration with local partners to ensure it responds to community priorities and creates long-term impact.
Through the 2026 Graveleur event series, riders will have the opportunity to contribute to the Laverton Cycling Project at the point of entry, helping to fund program delivery, equipment maintenance, and engagement activities within the community. Funds raised through the events will directly support the continuation and growth of cycling opportunities in Laverton, ensuring young people can safely and consistently participate in riding activities.
For Graveleur, the partnership represents an opportunity to align its events with a grassroots initiative that reflects the values at the heart of the brand – connection, authenticity, and purpose.
Graveleur Director Mike Israel said supporting the community has always been central to the organisation’s mission.
The alignment between Graveleur’s grassroots beginnings and the community-driven nature of the Laverton Cycling Project was a key driver behind the partnership.
“Graveleur itself is very much a grassroots initiative, starting with just a handful of like minded souls in 2017. At our core, we love to leave the cities behind and discover adventure in the outback and rural communities of Australia. The people we meet and the landscapes we traverse leave lasting memories and our events are designed to bring much needed economic activity to the beautiful towns we pass through.”
For CDF, the collaboration offers an important platform to raise awareness of the Laverton Cycling Project and the broader role cycling can play in supporting remote Australian communities.
Israel hopes riders participating in Graveleur events feel a deeper sense of connection and pride knowing their kilometres ridden translate directly into community impact.
“Whilst many of our members are based in the large centres of Australia and enjoy the benefits that can bring, we very much hope that riders get a sense not only of providing a helping hand to those who need it within Australia, but that the Graveleur community continues to grow and they feel like that is something they can play a hand in and feel proud to be a part of.”
Throughout 2026, CDF and Graveleur will work together to share stories from the Laverton Cycling Project, promote fundraising outcomes across events, and explore opportunities for deeper collaboration, including on-event engagement and community storytelling.
Together, Graveleur and the Cycling Development Foundation are proud to turn kilometres ridden into tangible community impact, helping ensure cycling remains accessible, empowering, and inclusive for communities across Australia.
