ProVelo Super League Round 4: Harbour City GP
Round 4 of the 2026 Hertz ProVelo Super League brought the team to the Harbour City GP Tour, held across a demanding three-stage program in the greater Sydney region. Featuring the fast and technical Cronulla Criterium, the Pheasant Wood circuit race, and a mountainous road race stage in Kangaloon, the event provided another valuable opportunity for our athletes to continue building experience within Australia’s strongest domestic racing environment.
For many riders currently in years one and two of the CDF Racing Program, events like this represent an important stage in the development pathway. The program emphasises long-term progression, with repeated exposure to high-level competition allowing athletes to refine race craft, decision-making, and execution before results become the primary focus.
WOMENS TEAM
Across the weekend, the women’s team demonstrated lots of resilience and ongoing progression despite a challenging racing block. The opening Cronulla criterium proved highly selective, with positioning critical on the narrow circuit. Miriam Sinnerbrink, Talia Chambers, and Carly Coventry all finished on bunch time in a reduced field, highlighting growing composure within the peloton.
The second stage at Pheasant Wood presented additional challenges, with several riders dealing with illness entering the race. Despite this, the group remained committed to the race plan. Isabella Newell delivered an encouraging ride, showing strong bunch skills while continuing her return to racing form after illness earlier in the season.
The final stage in Kangaloon was raced in difficult conditions, with rain, fog, and cooler temperatures adding further complexity to an already selective mountainous course. Talia showed strong climbing form to make an early split in the field, while first-year athlete Charlotte Hussein demonstrated impressive determination to finish in a heavily depleted race. Carly also continued to show some good form in the reduced peloton, with Talia finishing as the team’s best-placed rider at around 13th overall.
MENS TEAM
The men’s team also delivered several encouraging performances across the tour. In the Cronulla criterium, Cameron Fraser and Matt May were active early before a crash-induced restart disrupted the race. Matt finished strongly in the uphill sprint for 9th place, validating the team’s pre-race expectations for the finish.
Stage two at Pheasant Wood produced an attritional race shaped by constant pressure and technical racing. Cameron, Matt, Brendon Green, and Connor Fraser all remained well placed throughout the event. For Brendon, finishing the race marked an important milestone after returning to the same venue where he suffered a broken pelvis the previous year.
The final road race stage again tested the group across hilly terrain. Cameron animated the early phase with a powerful attempt to establish a breakaway, producing one of his strongest sustained efforts of the past year. As the race developed, Connor Fraser impressed as a first-year U23 rider, demonstrating strong climbing ability and durability in the reduced field, while Brendon also completed the race with the group after a long rehabilitation period.
OVERVIEW
With four rounds now completed, the benefits of sustained exposure to high-level domestic racing are becoming increasingly evident across the program. Each event provides valuable insight into the strengths and developmental needs of individual athletes, allowing the coaching team to refine training direction accordingly.
The squad now turns its attention to the next challenge on the calendar, the iconic Grafton-Inverell road race, as this demanding block of racing within the Hertz ProVelo Super League continues.
As always, these opportunities would not be possible without the support of our partners and sponsors, whose backing plays a vital role in enabling long-term athlete development, so thank you.
