Our update from the Laverton Cycling Project in November!

Program coordinator, Sabine Bird, sent us this update following her monthly visit to Laverton.

“These were our last visits to Mulga Queen and Cosmo Newberry for the year, as our next visit will be outside of the school term.

Mulga Queen is undergoing changes with a new teacher settling into the little community, who welcomed our program warmly, and in Cosmo Newberry, we faced a surprisingly large group of new faces, who were in town for only a short time.

Our Laverton duties extended to supervising children at the pool as the weather was hot and humid. All up, we had plenty of action!

We will be back in Laverton in December for our final visit in 2025, sending them off into their summer holidays…”

A note from Brad Hall, CDF Board Director:

“What began over 8 years ago as a 2-week pilot has become a year-round commitment to Laverton. In a town where connection matters deeply, cycling has proven to be more than just exercise – it’s a pathway to health, autonomy, and belonging. Our role is to support these connections, working alongside local groups to create lasting impact. Thank you to all who make this possible – your support helps sustain one of Australia’s longest-running remote cycling programs.”
