“The days in Laverton were very hot this month, and the younger and more energetic kids joined us for the session. We liaised with Stephen Michael Foundation to run the bike riding session this time. It is nice to be part of a familiar atmosphere where the kids and locals know and trust us and to build cooperative relationships with other like-minded organisations to build on the existing bike program.

After meetings with various people around town, an interesting idea came up with St John (and the Police) and we thought of a collaboration, in which we combine bike riding with injury prevention and first aid as a potential session/program for the kids. In addition, we will also start incorporating discussions about friendship, optimism, perseverance etc.

On another positive outcome, we have some interest now from various adults again to commence bike riding. That is largely due to an influx of new people (police and teaching staff etc).

Looking forward to our March session coming up soon!”

We are now also in full swing of organising next year’s Perth to Laverton Cycling Classic. Shoot us an email, if you are interested in joining or if you have any questions about the ride.
