2017 Community Events delivered by the CDF
The Cycling Development Foundation runs a collection of community based events that are exercise focused and held in conjunction with corporations, charities and businesses sharing a like-minded approach to health and wellness.
See below for a lit of our events confirmed for 2017:
- Ride to Work Events – held on the First Friday of each month at Narrows Bridge on Mounts Bay Road. This ‘pop up’ cafe and bike mechanic workshop offers complimentary coffee from The Handsome Stranger and bike check ups from a leading industry service provider, Vault Cycle Services. Hundreds of commuting cyclists are able to stop for a coffee and service and chat to members of the Cycling Development Foundation (CDF). This event is hosted and projected managed by our female and junior cyclist members as part of developing leadership beyond sport.
- Liv Cycling Australia Liv Ride – held quarterly, the national hosted events are for women only and attract over 100 women to group cycling. The events are run by women, for women and occur from central city locations. This event is hosted and projected managed by our female members as part of developing leadership beyond sport.
- VERIS Ltd Ride – held on the first Friday of each month from the VERIS headquarters in Osborne Park. The event invites employees and associates to participate in a gentle 19km ride with our cycling members. Our title partner VERIS Ltd values a healthy workforce and the CDF is able to deliver exercise events that benefit their employees and associates. This event is hosted and projected managed by our female and junior cyclist members as part of developing leadership beyond sport.
- Gala Event- Coming soon to 2017 our evening soiree aims to bring together like minded athletes and supporters to raise funding for Hope2Day and the CDF programs
- Charity Ride – Our first major charity ride is scheduled for the 19th November and involves a 130km paced ride through the hills of Perth. We aim to raise funding for a 1-2 week community program in the rural town of Laverton, North of Kalgoorlie. The program is hosted through Hope2Day charity and teaches children life skills in being able to build their own bike and offer services for other charity and at need groups. Funds from the ride will go toward this program, through which Veris Racing athletes will attend.
The CDF can facilitate community exercise based events for any organisation as a means of improving health and wellness and furthering companies own corporate social responsibility charters.
