The Cycling Development Foundation would like to welcome Mary Tennant to the board of the foundation

Mary is a keen amateur cyclist and has competed in the Ironman 70.3 series in Bussleton and Pucon Chile. Her first foray into cycling started on Groote Eylandt in 1986 when she was one of two woman to compete in the inaugural Groote Eylandt triathlon. She participated in the 2010 Ride for Youth and currently trains with the Exercise Institute.

Now retired Mary’s career in health was largely spent in remote Aboriginal communities in the NT and WA. Whilst working at the Telethon Kids Institute she co-ordinated the research project assessing the benefits of swimming pools in remote Aboriginal communities in WA. See here for more information

In 2016 Mary won the Finch Prize for her memoir “I Knew You’d Have Brown Eyes”
