Ride organisation
This is a social “no drop” ride, but due to the nature of the route there will be regroup points.
The three regroup points will be:

  1. After Stirling Bridge in East Fremantle at the top of Preston Point Road
  2. End of Burke Drive (cul de sac)
  3. Front of Raffles Hotel

It may be necessary to split the group in two the day due to numbers however there will be no distinction between ride speed or organisation.

Post ride activities
Following the ride, cupcakes and snacks will be provided courtesy of Liv Cycling Australia. Riders will need to purchase their own coffee and drinks (unfortunately due to vending restrictions in Kings Park we are unable to provide our own coffee supplier on this occasion). Riders will also have the opportunity to learn how to change a flat tyre with a demonstration to take place on the grassed area in front of Botanical Cafe in Kings Park.

Rider safety
The ride will be on open and at times busy roads. Riders ride at their own risk and are advised to take necessary precautions. Riders are advised to have a rear light (non flashing in the group please) and visible clothing. The most notable points are:

  • Curtin Avenue – ride single file where necessary
  • Freeway bike path – be mindful of other riders and the busy Saturday morning period

Experienced riders will be in the group and leading the ride so please communicate with them any safety issues you may experience. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather and bring water, spare tubes, pump and money for coffee. Check your tyres the night before for glass, cuts or stones that may cause a puncture.

Group riding etiquette
Please maintain group riding etiquette throughout the ride. If you are not sure please read the following helpful links
