Charlotte Hussein Crowned 2026 Junior National Road Series Champion

The final round of the 2026 BikeChain Junior National Road Series concluded over the weekend at the Balmoral Junior & Women’s Tour, where Charlotte Hussein secured the U19 Women’s Overall General Classification to become the 2026 AusCycling Junior National Road Series Champion.

Contested across three four-stage tours, the Junior National Road Series is Australia’s premier national pathway for emerging road cyclists. Winning the overall classification requires consistency across multiple race weekends, the ability to perform in varied terrain, and the maturity to execute under pressure throughout the season.

Following a strong performance at the Canberra Junior & Women’s Tour earlier this year, Charlotte continued her momentum in Brisbane, securing enough points to claim the overall series victory and finish the season as Australia’s highest-ranked U19 woman in the National Road Series.

While this result is a significant achievement in its own right, it also reflects the progression Charlotte has made throughout 2026.

Earlier this season, Charlotte stepped into the Hertz ProVelo Super League with our Women’s Racing Team, racing against Australia’s elite women as a first-year U19 rider. Competing at that level provided valuable experience, accelerating her tactical awareness, confidence and race craft before returning to the national junior pathway.

The progression from racing alongside Australia’s best elite women to winning Australia’s premier junior series demonstrates the value of exposing developing athletes to higher-performance environments.

Representing Northern Sydney Cycling Club, Charlotte will continue that journey later this year as part of our annual CDF Racing Belgium campaign, where she will gain further experience racing in Europe.

At the Cycling Development Foundation, we believe athlete development is built through opportunity. Giving young riders access to challenging environments, supporting their progression, and allowing them to continually test themselves against stronger competition.

Charlotte’s National Road Series title is an outstanding achievement, but more importantly, it represents another step forward in what is still the early stages of a very promising journey.

Congratulations, Charlotte, on an exceptional performance throughout the 2026 Junior National Road Series.
